Welcome to the wiki! I appreciate all the help you've done so far! I hope you'll continue the great work! ^^ Icelilly 20:17, 13 March 2009 (UTC)
Manga and Fanon Sections Edit
I haven't gotten any ideas for the manga section yet. But if I do I will let you know. As for the fanon section, it's pretty much dedicated to anything fan-made. Although, fan-made characters are not put here mainly for the fact that Himaruya might make it that particular character canon.
Here's some things so far I've come up with for the Fanon section:
- Pairing articles
- Common fan terms (I'm thinking of just putting this into one giant article)
- Fan websites
Got any more that you feel has been missed? Icelilly 21:13, 16 March 2009 (UTC)
Uniform Guide Edit
I absolutely love how you've started the project! The articles made so far are looking great! I'll see if I can some images. I know there's sketches of North Italy in different outfits through his different stages of life. I'll see if I can find it. Also, do you want Chibitalia's outfits with North Italy or do you want a separate article? Icelilly 16:32, 6 July 2009 (UTC)
No problem. Edit
Thanks, I'm already enjoying working on this Wiki. It's really great!
Seems like the Wiki's not very... famous... Maybe it needs some changes in its appearance? And promotion :)
I'd be honoured if I'm allowed to edit the Main page!
And sorry for my bad english. - ~ Shinatty-Chan Talk 19:29, 19 July 2009 (UTC)
- Oh, I'm glad to hear that. I thought I'd write some horrible wrong sentences and not more...
Allies/Axis pages Edit
Okay, if it's so, I'll try making an Allie and an Axis article, incl. the minor characters. I mean, Bulgary appeared in episode 28 and Ludwig called him an Axis, so I s'pose the historical members can count, too.
The minor characters could very well go in there. After all, Bulgaria is mentioned as an "Axis" (and before that manga appearance, Himaruya mentioned plans to design him in an old '07 archived post on Kitayume. He also mentioned Romania and another Axis Power, can't remember who at the moment). Finland is also shown with Germany in Chapter 4 of the webcomic, and was shown in the Axis military outfit designs, so he could go there. Prussia was too, though he was counted as "Germany" since the Prussian state was dissolved for the first time at that point. And then there's Canada's appearance as part of the Allies in the published version and anime (though no one else notices him). Good luck on those! ^^ Ceras SanMarina 14:49, 4 August 2009 (UTC)
Wow, your post makes mine look febele. More power to you!
I had an idea regarding the images on the Uniform Guide pages. What if we used the gallery format that's present on the Eyecatch page. It will make the pages look a lot cleaner. The gallery would be put at the bottom of the page after all the clothing has been introduced and explained. What do think? Is it a good idea? Icelilly 21:52, February 16, 2010 (UTC)
That's really a great idea! I'm not very good with coding on wikias, but I was wondering if we'd need to implement a 'Gallery' somewhere. It could work for the "multiple views" of an outfit too (old-style vs. new-style versions). It'd help clean up the pesky images that can't be resized too easily either, hopefully (I'm thinking of a few articles, like the Gakuen one). Ceras SanMarina 22:55, February 16, 2010 (UTC)
I can give it a go. I'll try it out with Hungary's page and you can see if you like it or not. If you don't like it, then we can go back to the old edit and figure out another way to do this. Icelilly 23:39, February 16, 2010 (UTC)
EDIT: I tried it out. It looks better than I thought it would be. Do you like it better like this? Icelilly 00:19, February 17, 2010 (UTC)
Nice job! I think that format could really work for the guide. And this way, we don't have to worry about too much page-stretching if more get added. Thanks :D Ceras SanMarina 01:02, February 17, 2010 (UTC)
Wow! It seems you've been busy! Great job on the reformatting! I'll see if I can get more images including more of the chibis and the santa outfits from last year. Icelilly 14:28, February 17, 2010 (UTC)
Heh, thanks. I had quite the free time, and I spent some of it looking through the Upload gallery for certain images. The World Cup uniforms could probably even be fit into the "gallery" format at this point, though he only drew a few of them (so far) so it's hard to say. It seems some of the big lineart pictures were originally for a "height difference chart" that he's never finished too (such a shame!) Ceras SanMarina 19:49, February 17, 2010 (UTC)
Oh yeah! I forgot about that! Must find those! I just finished uploading my first batch of images. I won't have time to put them in the gallery tonight but I'll do it tomorrow unless you want to give a go. Icelilly 01:41, February 18, 2010 (UTC)
Any way to clean up pairing articles? Edit
I was looking at the recently edited pages and many of the pairing articles are a mess, either short, off-topic, or nothing but speculation. Is there an effective way to clean them up? It's a bit difficult to do when the pages generally consist of fan interpretation and a reiteration of the plot, which often just catalogs absolutely any interaction a character has with another. I attempted a few times to clean Russia/America, but the entire article is written with a "fanon" tone, so even information that could be correct might be wrong (did that strip under "Modern Times" occur, and I just missed it?). So, I gave up and let it be. I tend to stay away from those articles in general, except to fix spelling mistakes or make note that it's fanon, but I'd feel guilty distributing incorrect information; the Russia/America articles states it's "mainly slash", implying there are real "moments" between the two. Should the Wikia come to a consensus on these articles, such as guidelines or whether or not to just list the ones with little information/small fanbases (or exclude them altogether)? I feel like it'd be better to nip it in the bud instead of having to deal with it later. Watermint 21:32, May 9, 2010 (UTC)
I love you, Watermint. Thank you, seriously.
Lately, I've been trying to fix up the Russia/America page as well, seeing as it's one of the biggest fan pairings out there, but I really don't like where it's going...
It actually took me this page to realized this has been happening with most of the new pairing pages. The old ones are actually okay, but it's new ones that are going down. I think it's because people are just making the article, and then just leaving it without any kind of information, leaving us to try to fill in the gaps. Heck, most of the pairings I'm trying to work with aren't any that I really suport and know nothing about!
As for the guidelines...wouldn't that be rather difficult? I mean, having a good template to work with would be great, but actually having a ban on certain pairings? Some I understand (ex. fan characters), but if we can get someone who actually ships a pairing, and can actually do an article, a good article, on it...
P.S. - The strip really did happen. Right after that little event, Arthur stepped in to give his present to Alfred.
I'm sorry. I'm still trying to get the 'Moments' secion done. :)
Haha, thanks^^ I've noticed quality is much better with older articles as well...Most of the new ones are just a mess, though that's not to say the older ones couldn't be improved. I also think there's a problem when it comes to fleshing them out--how can we fill in the blanks when we don't even have sources to go to? I think guidelines would be difficult, depending on the pairing. For something with character who have never/barely met, thus only really have fan speculation, the information is better suited for a list. I'm not opposed to articles on pairings, as long as they're done well and make it known that, despite some fans' insistances, nothing has been outright confirmed as canon (with exceptions).
Thanks! For the article, I had a hard time telling if it was fan-made or not, considering the first section was from the series and the Cold War section was entirely about fanfiction. D: Just looked at your work on Russia/America; it's already been massively improved! Watermint 00:05, May 10, 2010 (UTC)
I just wanna know~. Edit
How did you get the info about the Hetalia movie even though it's not subbed yet~? 220.127.116.11 02:30, June 6, 2010 (UTC)A curious fangirl
I looked at reviews on the movie that were on the Livejournal community for it, some fans were lucky enough to be in Japan (or live there) to see it. But there's also a Japanese forum site called 2ch, it's rather hard to navigate though and sometimes you have to use a translation program to get by with all the walls of Japanese text. They had a thread on the movie and spoilers were marked down. There are also a few Japanese blogs talking about the film, but I haven't been able to glean much info from them so far. Ceras SanMarina 03:16, June 6, 2010 (UTC)
Wikipedia article needs your content Edit
Can you copy your contributions at http://hetalia.wikia.com/wiki/List_of_Axis_Powers_Hetalia_Episodes to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Axis_Powers_Hetalia_episodes please? And your Wikia is large enough to be an external link there, so people know where to go from those articles over here for more information. Dream Focus 03:15, June 11, 2010 (UTC)
Ah, I'll do what I can! I hope the template used for the episode guide here would work for the Wikipedia too. I'll have to find FUNimation's official summaries for the first bunch of episodes and some other things. Any suggestions on the Wikipedia formatting? Ceras SanMarina 16:54, June 11, 2010 (UTC)
- I just copied and pasted everything to see if that worked, and it did. Not perfectly, but a good start for all those impatient deletionists over there. In my edit statement I gave you full credit for your work, and where I had copied it from. Dream Focus 18:25, June 11, 2010 (UTC)
Can we possibly do something about AN?!
Keeps deleting/spamming articles and userpages with the f-word non-stop.
Edit: Include the home page for the list. --Tiamatwizard 18:24, June 29, 2010 (UTC)
Contacting Himaruya Edit
I remember you writing instructions on how to contact Himaruya via his blog, though I lost the exact post, so...I was thinking that it might be something we could add to the Bamboo Thicket page. I'm constantly losing the information, and it might help people who want to send him something. Especially if Himaruya were to do a sketch-a-thon again. Watermint 02:07, August 15, 2010 (UTC)
Sure! Someone even posted a visual tutorial on Livejournal long ago, but I can't remember the tag or post it was under (and wading back there would be headache, aagh). If I remember correctly, the Gentosha mail form goes something like:
- E-mail address
- Age: Drop-down box gives you the different age ranges.
- Subject type: The first is "Thought", second is "Question", third is "Request", fourth is "Funny trivia", fifth is "Other"
- Subject title
- Message body
Then you hit the "send" button on the bottom left, then the left button on the confirmation page. If the system's working, you get the picture of Italy (with six fingers) thanking you for your message. Ceras SanMarina 03:39, August 15, 2010 (UTC)
Thanks! I'll go add it! I wouldn't try and find the tutorial--it's probably buried under hundreds of posts. It isn't worth the hassle. Watermint 14:05, August 15, 2010 (UTC)
Please, I just wanna know Edit
I saw you edited the Comic Diary article. Do you know where I can find the alternate-sequel version of Comic Diary 11 in which Chibi Belarus breaks Chibi Liet´s leg?
SakuraMiya 19:04, November 12, 2010 (UTC)
- It's here at http://himaruya.blog61.fc2.com/blog-entry-361.html
Thank you for asking about it! I hope this helps! Ceras SanMarina 03:27, November 13, 2010 (UTC)
Thanks a lot. It did help...And how about the Relationship Charts of the characters? I heard about them before but I can´t find them
