Some scanlators sometimes left out some illustrations and footnotes for whatever reason, and comparing them to the versions posted on Starry-sky, I think we've got some things left to "discover".
- The Kitty Festival strip. Ever noticed how the scanlated version was all blown up and weird looking? No such problem in the raw version. The scanlator left out the very first appearance of Belgium, too! Well, a half-appearance I guess. She has no face D:. There's also a footnote about her and the process of designing characters, as well as characters that Himaruya had hoped to design at the time.
- Germany vs Italy. Some extra non-Hetalia sketches in here, but if anyone interested in the other Kitayume works is up for scanlating, here you go! Some ran…
I decided to message someone on Livejournal who has drawn fanart of both of the Cypruses (using an original design for Cyprus himself) and who has the old independent drama CD. Since it's unlikely it will ever be translated and people have said that they wouldn't due to the voices, plus with Himaruya's updating being so unpredictable, I figured I'd ask someone who knew the most.
This is what I've gathered from them so far:
- Cyprus seems to be a teenager or young adult. He's a peace-lover, as the blurb on him on the Japanese wiki states. He hopes that Greece and Turkey will be able to reach a resolution and get along one day. He doesn't really know how to deal with Turkey or TRNC though, to the point where he'll ask TRNC to "take the old man a…

There are a lot of pages to take care of now, especially in concern to human names vs. country names. Since we'll be giving focus to their main names, the redundancies about what they represent can be removed (and maybe the country name in the lede can link to the wiki articles on it).
I'm thinking the "In the anime" sections can be shortened dramatically too, since the anime is an ongoing thing and to note every appearance would be problematic (especially for the main characters).
Shipping articles definitely will be part of the revamp, but I'm wary of being the one to touch those as I've gotten an aversion to them. We might need a new sort of template or lead to follow from for the revised character articles, but hopefully they can be pull…Read more >
Been a while since I blogged, though I'm thinking of finding a way to remove some older posts if possible (useless ones). Today I feel a little annoyed about some things related to Hetalia, some more loosely than others XD
This is not the "10 things I hate about fandom" post, but it might as well be a beta or it in some sort of spirit.
First annoyance: TVTropes and their bouts of censorship and vandalism that seem to go quite bad. Hetalia references have been hit with it too. You can try and make some clear additions, but bias can easily overturn any edits you make (and edits can be biased themselves, which I've tried to avoid and tried to present counterpoints to points too). Oh yeah, neutrality seems to be overrated there. You can try to r…

The movie's out in Japan now, and some spoilers are starting to leak into 2ch. Like the fool I am, I am refreshing and trying to read what I can about it. It seems like the early Prussia marketing was one big swerve as thought: He barely appears. Such is the nature of Prussia.
A certain other character does get screentime in this film though, and it's not just Iceland. It's...that island. Yes, the island. The character that we love to hate. The one that should have its own ending theme with how much screentime it's gotten. Forget Chibitalia, forget Rome and those other guys, the ultimate trolling technique would be to give this island its own character song or CD. You know there would be buyers for it too. The island even has its own pairin…Read more >
