Hetalia: Axis Powers?[]
Wikipedia's article on Hetalia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hetalia:_Axis_Powers calls it "Hetalia: Axis Powers" or "Hetalia Axis Powers", not "Axis Powers Hetalia". Not only that, or, the reason for that, the OFFICIAL web pages for the print manga and anime call it ăăăżăŞă˘ Axis Powersă or thereabouts, which translates to the former. If this is correct, then it's a shame the latter is so widespread in use - even by this very wiki. We may have to wait until it gets released in English, but for the sake of officiality - a policy carried out on Wikipedia - we might want to call it "Hetalia: Axis Powers" for now. I know it's a big change, but I'm a stickler for this kind of thing, I admit. ^^; --SpyHunter29 01:25, 13 July 2009 (UTC)
Hi there! Thanks for your comment!
When it comes to the debate over APH vs. HAP: The original webcomic site has listed it as Axis Powers ăăżăŞă˘ (Axis Powers Hetalia) for as long as it's been running, and it's the title that's still in use by both fandoms, Japanese and international (for the most part).
- http://www.geocities.jp/himaruya/hetaria/index.htm lists it as "Axis Powers Hetalia", as does the main Kitayume site. It may have been intended to be read as "Axis Powers: Hetalia".
The independent drama CD (which was scripted by Himaruya) used the "APH" ordering too. The "cover pages" for each main storyline chapter use the APH ordering as well. The original Japanese wiki, which was made before the anime and print manga, also uses the "Axis Powers ăăżăŞă˘" ordering.
You are correct that the print manga and anime use the "HAP" ordering, though! For some reason, the title got shifted to that. Perhaps they thought it would flow better? Meanwhile, the commercial drama CDs simply use "Hetalia". We probably might have to change up some stuff here though, since the anime's quickly becoming the more "known" version (or at least change the articles referring to the anime and published version to reflect the HAP order). Thanks for the tip/advice! It's much appreciated. As long as no one calls it "Power Axis Hetalia" (as I've seen some detractors refer to it as) though, I think either ordering would be viable, depending on which version you refer to. Hm, I was not aware of that. I don't know if this is one change we should be making now. At the very least, I'll stop getting so bugged by it now. --SpyHunter29 10:53, 13 July 2009 (UTC)
