So I was looking through templates in the Wiki when I came across this <nowiki>{{CastPortal}}</nowiki> template, which looks like this:

{{CastPortal}}

It occurrs to me that this template was used on the front page before, so I guess my question is if this template could be brought back to the front page since the character pages are making a comeback.
  +

And I thought that if it was added to the front page it could make for some easy navigation to new users, and fully utilize the new character pages by making them more obvious. I experimented with the template in the Editing:Hetalia Archives page, and if it does get put back in it may look something like this:

Again, this is just my suggestion, I wouldn't want to change something as big as the front page without permission, or at least opinions about it. Thanks for considering this!

I love the template, but the sides look (to me) a little iffy. You know, the ones with a lot of chibis? Yeah. But, that's just my opinion. :p

Well actually, the template isn't a formatting tool, it's actually just the eight boxes above. What I mean is that if you go into the Page Editor and edit this section, you'll see some green puzzle pieces, those are the templates and you can see them if you hover over the puzzle pieces. I think the chibis are the background of the wiki itself. Anyway, thank you for your input!

People ship these two together and I just wanted to know, Is Romania and Bulgaria shown together in the anime or in a chapter of the manga? I think they're cute together and someone should make a page for the ship cause I don't know much about it.

Hetalia: Axis Powers?

Wikipedia's article on Hetalia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hetalia:_Axis_Powers calls it "Hetalia: Axis Powers" or "Hetalia Axis Powers", not "Axis Powers Hetalia". Not only that, or, the reason for that, the OFFICIAL web pages for the print manga and anime call it 「ヘタリア Axis Powers」 or thereabouts, which translates to the former. If this is correct, then it's a shame the latter is so widespread in use - even by this very wiki. We may have to wait until it gets released in English, but for the sake of officiality - a policy carried out on Wikipedia - we might want to call it "Hetalia: Axis Powers" for now. I know it's a big change, but I'm a stickler for this kind of thing, I admit. ^^; --SpyHunter29 01:25, 13 July 2009 (UTC)

Hi there! Thanks for your comment!

When it comes to the debate over APH vs. HAP: The original webcomic site has listed it as Axis Powers ヘタリア (Axis Powers Hetalia) for as long as it's been running, and it's the title that's still in use by both fandoms, Japanese and international (for the most part).

The independent drama CD (which was scripted by Himaruya) used the "APH" ordering too. The "cover pages" for each main storyline chapter use the APH ordering as well. The original Japanese wiki, which was made before the anime and print manga, also uses the "Axis Powers ヘタリア" ordering.

You are correct that the print manga and anime use the "HAP" ordering, though! For some reason, the title got shifted to that. Perhaps they thought it would flow better? Meanwhile, the commercial drama CDs simply use "Hetalia". We probably might have to change up some stuff here though, since the anime's quickly becoming the more "known" version (or at least change the articles referring to the anime and published version to reflect the HAP order). Thanks for the tip/advice! It's much appreciated. As long as no one calls it "Power Axis Hetalia" (as I've seen some detractors refer to it as) though, I think either ordering would be viable, depending on which version you refer to. Hm, I was not aware of that. I don't know if this is one change we should be making now. At the very least, I'll stop getting so bugged by it now. --SpyHunter29 10:53, 13 July 2009 (UTC)

Denmark, Norway 4th season premier

On both's wiki page it says they will be in the 4th season premier, but for the next episodes it lists more boss spain and romano. Is thier premier an extra, or will they just show up later? I thought ep.1 of WS (second season) was to be them...

You misunderstood the sentence. It meant that Denmark and Norway would premier in the 4th season. Not the first episode. Icelilly 17:38, September 11, 2010 (UTC)

Kanji for minor characters?

I'm always looking for new pictures on pixiv, and it's more efficient to search using Japanese text. I was interested in looking up some of the African's (Zimbabwe, Kenya, Uganda, etc) but I don't speak Japanese, so I don't know what it would be.

I usually come here to get the Japanese, but none of the minor characters have the Japanese text. Is there anyway we can add that for them?

If you're looking for the African characters, FH14 did mockup profiles for them in his sandbox. It can be found here. There's also this site: http://kaedemirumo.webs.com/incompletepixivtaglist.htm Icelilly 17:21, October 27, 2010 (UTC)

Why do we call it Catalia?

I have a question that has been bothering me, why do we call the segment Catalia? I mean, if we use Catalia instead of Nekotalia, then we should call Chibitalia -> Minitalia, and Hetalia -> Uselesstalia. It just makes no sense to me. I suggest we change Catalia to Nekotalia to keep with the previous convention.

I think it's because of the T since Italy is pronounced as Itaria in Japan, as well as Italy itself. (And other countries as well.)
Chibitalia and Hetalia should stay the same due to how it is in Japanese. Notice the trend in those words though.
  • Chib-italia (Just separate the first syllable and you get Italy / Italia)
  • He-talia / Het-alia (taking syllables from two separate words to make one word)
However, you cannot do the same with Nekotalia. You're just dropping one letter and joining it together. Where as Catalia is doing the same trend as Hetalia is doing.
  • Ca-talia / Cat-alia (Notice the trend?)
Yes, it's dropping a letter still, but look at hetare and cat. The T in those words alone makes it more suitable, in my opinion. So, literally for Catalia, you're either dropping the I in Italia or the T in cat. Just like Hetalia; you're either dropping the tare / are in hetare or the I in Italia. Also, Usslesstalia doesn't follow this trend at all; it doesn't flow together as well as Chibitalia, Catalia and Hetalia does.
Also, a majority of the subbers call the segment Catalia as well, and we never heard any of the characters or a narrator say "Nekotalia" in the eyecatch. (For Chibitalia we have, and in the dub as well. I think that's the main reason it is still called Chibitalia instead of Minitalia).
This is all my opinion. I may and / or can be wrong or right.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Okay, I can see why now. To be fair, I would hate to make it Minitalia or Uselesstalia, I just didn't see the -talia correlation before, only the puns. I will still continue to use Nekotalia in my subs though, just because I like the Japanese puns. (I have fansub since WS17 on the hetalia LJ )
By the way, the eyecatches for Ca/Nekotalia are just cat noises, and they didn't have a narrator in the anime... I haven't read the manga though if the narrator says anything there, makes the anime more fun, because I never know what will happen.
Thanks for at least commenting though.

Italy's Curl

Okay, strange question of the day: Who knows which episode it is when Germany pulls on Italy's curl? Don't ask why i want to know.~TheEdgeOfTheSea~ 01:39, March 31, 2012 (UTC)

Hetalia names

Seeing as some of the characters have no official names for their Nyotalia versions (in this example I use the Asian countries) how would I put the name if I were to make one up?

If you don't get what I mean by this, here is what I am asking:

Do you see how for Hong Kong, one of his potential names is 'Li Xiao Chun'? Yes? Well, his female version -- would her name simply be "Li [insert female name here]" or would it be 'Li [insert name here] Chun', or so forth?

I'm confused as to how these names work.
