Also, due to the sheer amount of content Hetalia has, it is possible that even after the page is completed, some historical figures and other human characters will be missed. Davie[]

Anime: Davie (voiced by Kōhei Amasaki in Japanese and Dallas Reid in English)
Davie was a childhood friend of America. It is unknown exactly when he lived, but it is sometime after 1655 (when England and America met) and before the Revolutionary War began. Most likely the Davie comic takes place over several decades in the early 1700s. In the anime, Davie is depicted with blond hair and blue eyes. In his youth, he was shown wearing a long-sleeved white shirt, dark suspenders, brown pants, and dark shoes. As he got older, he began wearing more adult clothing, and he also grew facial hair in his elder years.
As a child, Davie sees young America sitting alone in a field and introduces himself, and the two quickly become friends. Davie shows America a book he has in his house and they talk about a blue flower that Davie hasn't been able to find. When America goes home in the evening, he says he'll get the flower. By the time America comes back, Davie has grown into a young adult. He is with a friend, who laughs and makes fun of him about the kid coming up to them, and then the two of them turn and walk away, leaving a hurt and confused America behind. America goes to visit Davie again many years later after England finally returned and told him the flower grows in Britain, not the Americas, and that he will get it and return. America wants to find him and tell him the news, but now Davie is a middle-aged man with children of his own. It is unsure whether Davie has remembered America or not, but he still treats him with kindness and tells him about his family. America is very confused and leaves upset. When England returns with the flowers, America runs back to Davie's town, where he encounters Davie's grandson, who looks very much like Davie, and he thinks the boy is in fact Davie. The grandson then shows America a coffin where the now deceased Davie is laying. Yet, America is still confused.

Howard's Grandson and England's secretary. During the 2013/2014 Halloween Event, England commented that Maurizio was "sometimes too obedient," similar to Howard. [1]
Maurizio appears in both the 2010 and 2013/2014 Halloween Event. In the 2010 Halloween: Cats and Christmas event comics, he has no lines but appears in the background of England's panels.
Lisa[]
A young American tourist visiting the country of France and is spotted by France himself who instantly mistook her for Jeanne d'Arc. While Lisa knew the basic information about Joan, France spends some time telling her more in-depth stories. It is unclear if Lisa is Joan's reincarnation or possible descendant.

Adolf Hitler[]

Anime: Episode 37 (voiced by Ken Takeuchi in Japanese and R Bruce Elliott in English), Episode 75, (at least one other appearance i can't remember what episode)
In Hetalia, he is referred to only as "Germany's boss". It is shown several times that Germany dislikes him and his orders, and is often threatened to comply. He once complained to Finland about his boss, and when Finland asked if Germany worries that his boss might throw him in jail for complaining, Germany was doubtful that a leader would imprison their own country, but Finland said that Germany's boss could foreseeably go that far.
Brothers Grimm[]

In Hetalia, Chapters 188-190 follow the Brothers Grimm story-writing process and life events. Jacob, the elder brother, is depicted as more gloomy and pessimistic than his brother. Wilhelm, the younger brother, is shown with a comparatively more cheerful and carefree demeanour. Prussia is seen reading Grimm's Fairy Tales and various stories written by the Brothers Grimm to a younger Germany, and praising their writing.[2]

Princess Catherine was mentioned by name in the Top Secret comic of Hetalia: Axis Powers Volume 4. In the anime adaption, William and Catherine are seen on the television Seychelles is watching, and they are wearing their wedding attire and riding in a carriage.

In his cameo he is not labeled, but the character resembles him and is referred to by America as "the real estate mogul who makes really outrageous claims".

In her appearance, Elizabeth II is seen but not mentioned by name, however it known to be her because this comic takes place in 1976, which was during her reign.
Harry S. Truman[]

Manga: Assault☆The Neighbor’s Roswell Incident
Anime: Episode 66 (voiced by Atsushi Kousaka in Japanese and uncredited in English)
In the comic and episode Truman appears in, he is not mentioned by name, just as America's boss. However, he shares a close resemblance with the real Truman, having the same hairstyle and glasses. Additionally, the story is revolving around the Roswell incident, which occurred in 1947, during his presidency.

In her cameo she is not labeled, but the character resembles her and is referred to by America as "the one who is publicizing all of the secrets of UFOs and Area 51".
Juana of Castile[]

Manga: Boss's Control of Southern Italy
Spain's boss back when Romano lived with him. She suggests that Spain should sell Romano, as Spain spends a substantial amount of money on his upkeep, claiming that their colonial bounty is wasted on him, after which she gives him an economics lecture, involving her pummelling him aggressively. She wears a yellow dress that laces in the back with dirty blonde hair in a tight bun, and jewelry.
Joe Biden[]
Manga: Hetalia: World☆Stars Chapter 455
Although he was not mentioned by name, in Chapter 455 of Hetalia: World☆Stars he appeared and was referred to as America's boss. This character is known to be Biden because of their resemblance and because the comic takes place in the present day.
Matthew C. Perry[]

Commodore Matthew C. Perry was was mentioned by the narrator in Episode 98 as being the leader of the United States' expeditions to Japan to encourage the Japanese government to open the borders. Though he is not directly named, it can be inferred the man accompanying America is Perry due to him being the leader of the voyage. Additionally, in the manga the character has a resemblance to Perry, though his hair was changed to blonde in the anime.

In the comic and episode he appears in, Fillmore is not mentioned by name, just as America's boss. However, in the manga he resembles the real Fillmore and has the same hairstyle, though in the anime adaptation his hair is different and a mustache was added. Additionally, the story is revolving around the Perry Expedition, which Fillmore gave the order for.
Mutsuhito (Emperor Meiji)[]

Manga: The Anglo-Japanese Alliance Between Two Lonely People
Anime: Episode 49, Episode 73, Episode 74(mentioned) (voices not credited)
Emperor Meiji (born Mutsuhito, he was posthumously honored as Emperor Meiji) was the 122nd emperor of Japan. In Episode 49, it is not directly said who he is, but his appearance is somewhat similar to Emperor Meiji, so it can be inferred that this is intended to be him. He also does not appear in the corresponding manga comic for this episode. In Episode 73, Meiji is shown only from behind as an unnamed man with dark hair, but the manga comic and anime credits state he is Japan's boss.
William, Prince of Wales[]

In The Battle for America, an unlabeled man with a beard, presumably a king, is sitting in a throne behind France and England while they argue. It is unclear whether this panel takes place during the War of the Austrian Succession or the Seven Years' War, and it is also unclear where they are, as the next panel has Austria telling them to stop fighting in other people's houses. Thus, it is uncertain who this king is intended to be.

Jeanne d'Arc[]
Also known as Joan of Arc, she was shown in the strip Big Brother France and That Kid, which showed her romantic relationship with France.
In A Bientôt! Until We Meet Again, her reincarnation, Lisa, is spotted by France who leads her around Mont-Saint-Michel. She is later seen discussing this strange event with her mother while America overhears from nearby.
Joseph Stalin[]
Russia's boss during the World War II-set strips.
Frederick the Great of Prussia[]
Prussia's favorite boss of all time, whom he refers to as "Old Fritz." He was the Prussia's boss during the War of Austrian Succession strips/episodes, though he didn't make an appearance at that time. He made an appearance in the Maria Theresa and the 7 Years' War where it was mentioned that he hated women.
Zheng He[]
A famous Chinese sailor during the 14th century.
Władysław II[]
Also known as Jogaila, he is Lithuania's boss in The First Time The Poland Rule Was Used.
Spartacus[]
He appeared in the strip Roma-jiichan and Spartacus and was challenged by Ancient Rome for a fight.
Xuande Emperor[]
China's boss in the China's Age Of Exploration strips.
Niccolo Machiavelli[]
He appeared once in the strip Something More Important than Tanks. He wrote a book with great war strategies entitled The Prince, but in the end none of them did actually work.
Ludwig van Beethoven[]
In the webcomic The Austrian Anschluss, Germany and Austria have an argument about whether the composer Ludwig van Beethoven would be considered German or Austrian.
Benito Mussolini[]
Italy's boss during World War II, is mentioned at the end of Lithuania’s Out-Sourcing Series Part 3: The Great Depression as having gained power in part due to the Great Depression.
Vlad the Impaler[]
In the Christmas 2011 event, Bulgaria and Romania briefly discuss the legends and myths surrounding Vlad the Impaler, an infamous boss of Romania's that would later become the inspiration for the character of Count Dracula.
Trung sisters[]
Although the two ladies do not appear in any Hetalia anime or manga, they were mentioned by name in the sketch about Vietnam. And with the information that Vietnam is strong due to having many women in history, it is possible that Vietnam had a deep relationship with these two historical figures.
Notes About Bosses:
- When a Nation refers to their "boss", this most likely means their current leader/head of state, such as a president, monarch, prime minister, or other leader. They do not appear frequently in Hetalia but are shown during the times of their term/reign and often interact with their respective Nation. Many figures have been named rather than shown. In addition, a number are unnamed in the source material, but who they are supposed to be can be indicated by their appearance or by when the comic takes place.
- Leaders are aware of their country being represented by an immortal human entity, but despite that, they often treat their Nation(s) as a subordinate. There have been many instances depicted of leaders withholding information from their Nation, not listening to their Nation, or giving their Nation orders they are supposed to obey even if they do not wish to do so. Nations do not seem to be able to disobey these orders, and often do have different opinions or desires from their leaders and very rarely go against their boss's command. However, fear and force have sometimes been used to keep them in line. Nations themselves also are shown to not have much control over actual government decisions. They may talk to/advise their leaders, but humans make the decisions and Nations are often unable to resist.
- It does depend on the Nation and time period, but several Nations are often involved in matters of the government and/or military and work alongside their leaders. In the present day they seem to do a lot of diplomatic work with each other. However, some leaders have limited or prevented their Nations' from doing certain things, or have forced them to do things, one such act being arranging actual marriages between Nations based on political unions.
Roman Emperor Picture Book Characters[]
These characters are Himaruya's versions of Roman Emperors and other famous Roman figures. The designs are mostly not historically accurate, especially regarding the emperors. They have been "Hetalia-fied" into anime boys, unlike most other historical figures. It is likely that the Roman Emperor Picture Book is more of an alternate universe. WIP!!
